DISTRICT 29 PTO MONTHLY MATTERS

PRESIDENT’S WELCOME

Tuesday, April 8, 2025

Happy April everyone!

First, a HUGE shout out to the Miami Nights Benefit team and all the D29 families who donated, supported and showed up to the event for bringing in over $75,000 for the PTO. It is one of the best turnouts in recent history, and a true testament to the power of our amazing community. We have so many amazing plans for the future and these funds will help us bring our best efforts to support the school and all the students. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

But we are nowhere close to finish for this year! In fact, the PTO might be the busiest we have ever been with International Night, SRS Book Fair, and Family Fun Fair all around the corner. There are so many ways to get involved and help out so stay tuned.

Our next meeting will be Monday, April 14th at 9AM. This month we will be sharing both the proposed 2025-2026 PTO budget as well as the 2025-2026 PTO slate. Our PTO After Party will focus on answering any questions regarding these announcements so please stop in!

All families are invited to D29’s First Annual International Night at Sunset Ridge. Come celebrate different cultures with food, student performances, art, and more! Any questions? Email Carolyn Kelley at carolyn@alumni.nd.edu.

New Family Mentor Request!

D29 PTO is looking for "Mentor Families" to connect with new families in our district for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a great way to get involved with our school district community and is always a lot of fun.  Please fill out this form if you would like to volunteer!

TIME TO ORDER SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Parents, it's time to check one thing off your list! The PTO has arranged convenient and cost-efficient school supply ordering through 1st Day School Supplies! Order your kit for the 2025-2026 school year by July 1st, and it will be directly delivered to your child's classroom at the start of next school year. PLUS, a small portion of every sale supports the PTO.

CALLING ALL PARENTS – PTO Board Positions for 2025-2026 school year

The PTO programs are only possible because of our dedicated parent volunteers. It's a great way to get involved with your child's school and to meet other parents!

It's time to start filling the various PTO Board Positions for next school year.  Not sure which role you are interested in? Check them out here PTO Board Positions. Click on a position to see a short description at the bottom of the webpage, or click on the paper icon to the right to see more details.

Reach out to the PTO Nominating Chair, Sandy Norbot, at sandynorbot@yahoo.com or 847-826-8630 with any questions or to express your interest in a position. All are welcome!

PLEASE NOTE:  This will be an open slate, which gives all parents an opportunity to raise their hand and try something new. If you are a current PTO board member and would like to continue in that role, please notify Sandy.

Sunset Ridge Book Fair

Save the Date! The Sunset Ridge School Book Fair is scheduled for May 20-21, 2025. We’ll be working with local favorite Anderson’s Bookfair Co. again this year. Get your kids excited for a great selection of books that will kick-start their summer reading. More details coming soon!

Family Fun Fair

Mark your calendars! The Family Fun Fair is happening on June 4th, 2025, from 3:30-6:00PM at Clarkson Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to volunteer and support the PTO. We’d love your help to make it a success! Stay tuned for more details!
