JUNE 2026 PTO MONTHLY MATTERS
PRESIDENT’S WELCOME
Can you believe this is the last PTO newsletter of the year? Every June I find myself stunned by how quickly the year blew by and this one feels even faster than the rest. It has been an incredible pleasure serving as the PTO president this year and I know I speak on behalf of the Exec Committee and the broader board when I thank each and every one of you for your time, resources, participation and support. We are so lucky to be a part of this community and none of what we accomplished this year would have been possible without you.
We still have our Family Fun Fair coming up on June 4 and we hope all of you will come out to enjoy inflatables, music, sweet treats and say goodbye to Dr. Stange!
With that, I pass on the PTO presidency to the mighty Sarah Hayes. I couldn’t imagine a better person for the role, and with all her creativity and passion for this school district I know next year is going to be fantastic!

Come out to see Dr. Stange at the Family Fun Fair on June 4 at Clarkson Park! He’ll be there from 3:30-4:45PM at a special post in the gazebo for members of the community to offer their hugs, handshakes, and farewells in person. Please stop by to say thank you for all of his service to D29!
Family Fun Fair 🎟️
Come out to Clarkson Park this Thursday, June 4 from 3:30 to 6:00PM. Stormy’s will be set up for food and drink purchases. Kona Ice will be on site. And we’ll have inflatables, face painting, games, a photo booth, music, and more!
New Family Mentor Request 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏽♂️
If you’re looking for a way to get involved with the PTO next year, we still have room for a few more "Mentor Families." Help us welcome all new families in our district for the 2026-2027 school year. Please fill out this form if you would like to volunteer!
School Supply Ordering Still Open ✏️
Parents, it's time to check one thing off your list! The PTO has arranged convenient and cost-efficient school supply ordering through 1st Day School Supplies! Order your kit for the 2026-27 school year by July 1, and it will be directly delivered to your child's classroom at the start of next school year. PLUS, a small portion of every sale supports the PTO.

School Supply Donation Drive 📒
For a 3rd year in a row, we’ll be collecting extra unused (or gently used) school supplies and donating them to those in need. We’re partnering with Roberti Community House to help get basic school supplies into the hands of children without access to them. We will have collection boxes in both school lobbies from May 18 until the end of the school year. Feel free to drop off any supplies you have at home during normal school hours. D29 PTO Cubs Fundraiser ⚾️
Secure your seats now for the D29 PTO Day at Wrigley this Fall! Come watch the Cubs play the Pirates on Sunday, September 13 at 1:20PM. Tickets are only on sale until June 5 - so grab your seats today (and tell your family/friends!). $5 per ticket goes back to D29’s PTO and it’s a “Family Sunday” so kids can run the bases after the game. Buy tickets here!
2026-27 School Year PTO Slate
Please welcome the PTO slate for the 2026-2027 school year! We are so excited to have all these amazing volunteers for next year. If you are a new incoming chair, please make sure to reach out to the current chairs listed on the website to help create a seamless transition. If you are an outgoing chair, please ensure you have submitted your board report to legislative@district29pto.org.

Family Fun Fair Chair Carrie Boyd for working so hard to bring a wonderful fun fair to celebrate the end of the year.

School Supply Chairs Marina Gallagher and Lindsay Mullen for organizing our school supply ordering this year. Their behind-the-scenes work allows all of us to buy school supplies in less than five minutes flat.
The entire Teacher Appreciation Committee — Sandy Norbot, Anne Skaggs, Alyssa Cochran, Amanda Musgjerd, Phoebe Nitekman, Shiva Seth, and Lindsay Swift — for making the teachers feel loved all year long.
