It's a wonderful way to get to know your child's classmates and other grade level families. Its also a great way to stay connected to what's happening at school and support your teacher throughout the year. (Your kids love seeing you show up, too!)

Whether you're a first-time volunteer or a seasoned pro, we're excited to have you on the team. No previous experience is needed as we'll help you get started!

Who's Who?

Kindergarten–5th Grade
Each classroom will have 2–3 Room Parents who work together to support their class throughout the year. Room Parents across the grade also connect to share ideas, coordinate celebrations, and help make the year memorable.

6th–8th Grade
Middle school looks a little different! Instead of classroom Room Parents, each grade has a Room Parent Team that partners with teachers to support activities and events for the entire grade.

What Do Room Parents Do?

At the beginning of the school year, the PTO Vice President will reach out with everything you need to know, including classroom needs, party planning, and helpful tips.

While every year is a little different, Room Parents typically:

• Help organize classroom celebrations like Halloween, Winter, Valentine's Day, or a Spring party
• Coordinate end of year and holiday gift collections for teachers and staff
• Share occasional PTO or classroom information with families, as needed
• Be a friendly partner to your teacher and a welcoming resource for fellow families

• Classroom parties are food-free.
• If you think an exception is needed, please check with your teacher, school administration, or the PTO Vice President.

Sunset Ridge

• Party treats and special celebrations are welcome, just be sure to coordinate with your grade-level teacher first.
